May 8, 2017/Brooklyn, NY—Everybooty, BAM’s celebration of New York City Pride Month, returns for its fifth year at BAM Fisher on June 24. This all-inclusive, all-gender celebration of queer culture is equal parts dance party, arts happening, and community affirmation. Curated by Sean B, Sarah Jenny, Jason Roe, and Ricardo Osmondo Francis, the event features musicians, dancers, visual artists, drag performers, DJs, and storytellers throughout the entire BAM Fisher building.
For this year’s event, Will Sheridan, a Brooklyn-based new-wave-hip-hop artist, will serve as emcee, introducing artists throughout the night. Performances in the Fishman Space feature electronic music artist Madame Ghandi, Xavier, Shea Diamond, ALONE, Heather Litteer, Sue Elise Peebles feat. People With Teeth, and performance artist “high-femme troublemaker” Heather María Ács. In the Hillman Studio there will be an eclectic mix of performances by Aye Nako, a queer punk band, A.A. Garcia/The Red Lines Theater Company, Zullo/RawMovement, Malcolm-x Bettsand, and Nicholas Gorman. The downstairs lobby will feature video screenings by I’m from Driftwood, a LGBT storytelling and story sharing initiative, and an exhibit curated by Ricardo Osmondo Francis, featuring the following artists: Gabrielle Royal, Lovie Olivia, Mark Vinsun, Michael Wilson, Seth Ruggles Hiler, Ricardo Osmondo Francis, Edwin Gonzalez-Ojeda, David Rios Ferreira, and La Buruquena. DJ Illexxandra spins in the Fishman Space after the performances while Xanadude, with DJs Sean B, Deputy and Gant Johnson, keep the party going on the roof with classic disco and house dance tunes all night. Cash bars will be located throughout the building.
Tickets are $25 in advance ($30 day-of) and go on sale for BAM members on May 9 and on May 16 for the general public. For all ticket information, call BAM Ticket Services at 718.636.4100, or visit BAM.org.

Inspired by the boundary-busting Pride festivities of San Francisco, Everybooty’s curators have created a yearly pride event that’s focused not only on featuring local artists and performers but aims to bring together the too often fractured queer communities of New York City. The first Everybooty was held in 2011 at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and drew a crowd of over 2,000. In 2012 an all-day party was held at the former outdoor DeKalb Market in Downtown Brooklyn. The 2013 installment, the first at the BAM Fisher, transformed the building into the ultimate party venue, with events taking place on four floors.
