Malcolm-X Betts by Nicholas Harris

Malcolm-x Betts is a New York based artist who is currently working on his debut showcase titled “Black Bodies Down: A Depiction of Black and Brown Masculinity” At La MaMa Umbria in Italy. Malcolm has studied at Earl Mosely’s institute of the arts, Dancing In the Street’s social dance incubator, and was a part of the creative process of a marketing campaign “HIV Stops With Me”.

Betts has performed at Judson Memorial Church, Dixon Place and Poe Park Visitor Center. He believes that art could be used to bring people and communities together and focuses on the core value of using transformation through art.
